Watch this video to learn how to use this page and avoid getting cheated on weights and measures

Here's the game: extruders buy resin by the pound or kilogram and sell PE film by the pound or kilogram.  No matter the unit of measurement on the invoice - 1000 lineal feet, 1000 square inches (MSI), lineal yard or 1000 bags, it is sold by weight.

This unique page translates weight into area.

Choose one of the calculators below and simply input the dimensions of the package in either English or Metric units to derive the weight per 1,000 packages then multiply by the price per pound for cost per 1,000 packages.

We have endeavored to make this so easy that the calculations are done for you by clicking "calculate".

Most sheet film extruders do not want you to have these tools.  Chances are you are paying a lot more than what appears on the invoice.  If you buy by weight, you get "heavy" or overgauged film.  If you buy by the piece or roll, you get "light" film.

To derive price per roll, you need:
thickness, width, feet per roll and price per pound
simply go to the third box below
enter the width and thickness to derive weight per 1,000 lineal feet
next multiply the weight per 1,000 feet by the total number of feet on a roll
this will give you the weight per roll
multiply by the price per pound and voila !  you got your price per roll
