Medical

We can provide medical device packaging, components for packaging medical devices or the actual medical device.  All of our medical films are ETO (ethylene oxide) and gamma sterilizable and pass any test for biotoxicity for direct contact with the patient's skin. We offer a full line of films which are radio and laser opaque. We can match to some extent variations of “hand” usually associated with PVC.

 

Medical Devices

Examples include irregular custom shapes and a reclosable plastic zipper feature. We can help with design of fitments to interface with other devices incorporating non-polyethylene resins. We supply rollstock for making surgical drapes such as mayo stand cover, nurses´ back table cover, microscope and other specialty drapes. Custom micro perforation for specific procedures is available.

Medical Device Packaging

Chevron / Corner Peel Pouches We manufacture high visibility films with seal strengths ranging from peelable to fusion bond with clean peelability. Our films can be supplied as a stand-alone single layer or laminated to polypropylene (PP) nylon or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as a sealant layer. In addition to films for aseptic presentation, we are patient with protocol development of unique solutions to "shake, rattle and roll" also known as ASTM D4169-05 DC 13, D7386, F1980, ISTA series 2 and 3 and the classic ISO 11607. We are concerned about Medical Device Product Protection or staying one step ahead of counterfeit and tampering of medical devices. This is unfortunately a full-time job for many. We can help with some simple tips to help with authentication / track and trace.                                                                   Form / Fill / Seal    (TFFS) We provide a time-tested monolayer alternative to formable nylon web for horizontal form / fill / seal. Our METSFT can be utilized for tray forming deep or shallow draw cavities sealed to top webs such as coextruded multilayer film or Tyvek® nonwoven.                                                                Custom Pigmentation If you need more specific color matching than one of our stock blue or green medical colors, custom matching is available.                                                           Narrow Width Layflat Tubing Sometimes there is no substitute for seamless narrow width layflat tubing for packaging small items.

PVC ALTERNATIVE

We have proprietary films which are viable, proven alternatives to Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) which has been banned in many countries. If you manufacture an item which could be sold through distribution into one of these countries, an alternative to PVC is required. We can mimic the “hand” of your current PVC and provide a gamma sterilization film if necessary. The other good news is the economics. Pound for pound compared to PVC, our films provide a 32% yield advantage over PVC.
