Low Melt / Total Batch Inclusion

Low melt, also known as total batch inclusion (TBI) means using a bag which melts at a lower temperature to package ingredients for rubber compounds.
In the early days of tire manufacturing, the ingredients were combined in an assembly line fashion prior to mixing in a Banbury compounder. Eventually, the ingredients were packaged outside the tire plant in EVA bags for lower cost and more accurate batching. The bag becomes a component of the finished tire or synthetic rubber part.
Today the melting temperature ranges are well defined by the vicat softening point and/or DSC melting point. This is achieved by the percentage of EVA copolymer or utilizing an entirely different polymer such as 1,2 syndiotactic polybutadiene depending on the application.
We have an appropriate low melt film for your application. If you want to package hot melt glue in bags which must melt along with the glue, we can provide several options. Contact Us with the melt temperature you require defined either as DSC melting point or vicat softening point.
